The Art of Editing: Episode 2
In this episode of the art of editing
Macro, macro, macro…. something so close that it looks larger than life. 🙂 Part of my own photography journey last year was focused around trying to capturing some beautiful images of items that were based on a macro lens. This image was actually captured yesterday while I was procrastinating over doing a web post. My wife had some flowers on the counter and in my immediate drive to not do what I was supposed to be doing, I grabbed the flowers and set out to get some marco photos. I have to say I am very happy with the results.
When I brought this image into lightroom I did an auto adjustment with the Lightroom Essentials workflow and that gave me a very good base to work with. After that I noticed that there were a number of black spots on the image which was from the dust spots and my “dirty” camera. I used the clone tool and healing brush to remove those. The next step was to enhance the colours, enhance and details and add some contrast to bring your focus to the centre of the image.
Considering I took this image in a matter of about 30 seconds with nothing more than a macro lens and a flash, I am very happy with the colours that I was able to bring out.
