The Art of Editing: Episode 3
In this episode of the art of editing
One of my favourite kinds of photography is a Long Exposure. I love capturing long exposure images because of how you can capture some amazing kinds of light and really create a form of art in your photo.
This image was a long exposure that I captured during one of my night photography classes of a pier on the water. The sun was setting on the left of the image and the blue hour was in full swing, hence the very blue image. For those of you that are not familiar with long exposures, the concept requires a tripod, manual mode and a fair bit of time. The camera is on a tripod because of the slow shutter speed. If you were holding the camera there is a very good chance there would be motion blur in the image.
Once I got the image from my camera to my computer I did a large number of edits to get the image to the final product. My edits include: lens corrections, colour profiling, using the tone curve, gradients, adjustment brush edits and a lot more. *** Remember if you want that starburst effect with your lights, your aperture (f/stop) needs to be high.
